Return of the Dark Ages
Trickle down economics never did work,
the money flows to the top and stays there.
What trickle down are budget cuts for the middle class and poor.
Especially hard hit are the disadvantaged.
Now even public schools are in dire jeopardy.
Soon, only the rich will be educated
and who with money will be a nurse?
Free trade has been great for big business,
not so great for the environment or US employment.
Everyone of blue-collar class down must take pay cuts to compete
but bills for utilities and entertainment escalate unchecked.
Doctor-patient confidentiality no longer exists.
Your medical records are in unified databases for easy access.
Great if you need emergency service,
but, among other things,
drug companies are now sending directed junk mail
with your name on it.
Your mail carrier knows your health problems too.
They call it free enterprise but what happened to privacy?
Is this what it means to live in a republican controlled country?
Are the democrats in on this too?
Is this what the majority of Americans really wanted?
Or did we buy the lies and now pay the price?
The rich and powerful are living in ultra luxury.
The rest of us have standards of living in freefall.
Wake up before it's too late!
Demand change before they have us back in horse and buggy!
Stop letting the rich and powerful eat our pie;
it's time they gave back to the cupboards they cleaned out.
