32x32 16 Color Icons
Notes on MACJR'S Computer IconsThese icons were made on my second computer, a custom build IBM compatible 80386 with my first SVGA monitor, MS DOS 5, and Windows 3.1. These icons should date me for some of you old time computer users. My first computer, back in 1992, was a Tandy 1000TL 80286 with a 16 color CGA monitor. When I bought it, and turned it on for the first time, the very first thing I seen was a black screen with a C> and a cursor flashing in the upper left hand corner. I had to read instructions to find the main program, called DeskMate, because the previous owner had messed up the autoexec.bat file (and I had no clue what that was at the time). That old Tandy was very primitive by today's standards but it gave me the start I needed. It introduced me to DOS 3.x and an early Windows like program that took real thought, and a few books, to learn. Today's computers are a breeze to use in comparison (except for Microsoft's bad habit of hiding some settings in obscure places that can't seem to be found a second time without spending two hours searching for them). Feel free to contact me for more information or just to say hello. Michael A. Crane, Jr.
